What to Expect at Crowned Psychiatry

Telehealth throughout California, with in-person appointments available upon request. Contact the practice to confirm in-person availability and location before booking. The mailing address is not an appointment location.

1. Request your appointment

New patients may request an Initial Psychiatric Evaluation. Established patients may request Psychiatric Follow-Up & Medication Management through our existing OptiMantra booking page. Appointments are confirmed after reviewing required intake information and availability.

2. Complete your intake

Follow the intake instructions provided for your appointment. Gather your health history, current medications, concerns, and care goals. Verify insurance eligibility and expected costs, or confirm self-pay arrangements.

3. Prepare for your visit

For telehealth, choose a quiet, private location in California. Have a reliable internet connection and a device that supports your visit. Check the appointment instructions and keep your medication list and questions nearby. For a confirmed in-person visit, follow the location and preparation instructions provided by the practice.

4. Share your story

Your initial evaluation is a conversation about your symptoms, experiences, health history, and goals. Shavonda Johnson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, PHN, CEN, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in Critical Care/Trauma nursing. She listens carefully and invites you to take an active role in your care.

5. Create a plan together

Discuss appropriate treatment options, ask questions, and work together on a personalized plan. Follow-up visits provide time to review progress, address medication questions, and adjust care when appropriate.
